Barrier-free environment is one that enables people with disabilities, old age people, and small children to move about safely and freely and to use the facilities within the built environment.

A place or a set of services that can be accessed by all, without obstacles, with dignity and with as much independence as possible. The environment means buildings, roads, parks, gardens, and other places, services, modes of transportation, products of daily use, etc.

In special schools of the center, Ramps are being used for the children to who face difficulty in mobility to enter in class classrooms. In DDRC (District Disability Rehabilitation Centre), along with a Ramp Lift facility, provision is available to move to other floors. A free barrier environment is also available to all the children at the center's premises.
